Gundog Training

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in seeing with new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

I am particularly dedicated to using only positive, force-free, motivational methods of training and believe that training gundogs successfully should be an enjoyable journey for both dog and handler.

Force-free training has become increasingly popular in most areas of dog training and dog sports and it is now making its mark with more enlightened gundog trainers.

Shake off those traditional gundog training drills, step out of your comfort zone and experience the freedom of throwing treats, toys, laughter and clickers into your teaching! Watch the lights come on in your dog as he learns to problem solve with confidence and enthusiasm. You will still be teaching your dog all aspects of gundog work but your methods will be so much more rewarding for you and your dog.

Whether your dog is to work on a shoot, take part in working tests, aspire to field trials or to simply enjoy learning new skills, I can set you on the right path and help you achieve your goals.

The gundog groups of spaniels, retrievers, hprs (eg spinone, visla) and pointers/setters all hunt differently, scent differently and are motivated differently. All gundog breeds are welcome and will be trained along the lines of spaniels and retrievers but with consideration for breed differences.
