“My little dog – a heartbeat at my feet.” – Edith Wharton
Jules Morgan (MAPDT 973) I have been a professional dog training instructor for over 22 years. Originally based in Sussex, my dog training business became a household name in the area with an excellent reputation for good quality, kind, reward based methods of training. This is supported by an in-depth knowledge of learning theory for both dogs and humans together with a very broad experience of contact teaching and resolving behaviour problems.
I am a member of the APDT (The Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and of the Kennel Club’s Accredited Instructor Scheme working towards accreditation and adhere to the Codes of Practice for both organisations. I continue to study and explore all things canine-related and over recent years I have developed my training techniques to being completely force-free.
I have a passion for working and training gundogs and a wealth of experience in all aspects of lowland shooting from large estates through to small farm shoots and rough shooting. With over twenty years of practical involvement in beating, picking up, shooting, shoot management, working tests, etc., there is a great deal of knowledge to be shared. I have successfully instructed clients for competitive gundog work, judged working tests and undertaken field trial management training. I am a co-founder of The Leconfield Working Spaniel Club, have organised The Kennel Club’s Working Gundog Certificate and can offer personal on-shoot coaching for new gundog handlers. I am a member of BASC, Devon Lady Guns and I hold the Lantra Shooting Assistant/Loader Certificate.
I live with and work three Labrador Retrievers and two Working Cocker Spaniels… to keep my feet on the ground! From time to time I breed from these dogs making full use of available health screening tests in order to optimise the chances of the healthiest of puppies as well as the most desirable of temperaments.
